The FiiO Q5s, direct successor to the original Q5, exemplifies the brand's technological maturity. More than just a portable DAC/amplifier, it's a true audiophile Swiss Army knife, capable of adapting to all uses thanks to its removable amplification module.

The dual AK4493EQ chipset ensures smooth and detailed sound reproduction, with an open soundstage and remarkable tonal balance. The symmetrical architecture guarantees minimal background noise and ample power to drive both high-end in-ear monitors and compact planar headphones.

On a practical level, the Q5s shines with its universal connectivity: USB, optical, coaxial, analog line, and also Bluetooth LDAC/aptX HD, allowing for uncompromising wireless use. Robust, refined, and ultra-functional, it remains one of the most complete portable DAC/amplifiers ever produced by FiiO.

Technical details & operation

The FiiO Q5s incorporates two AKM AK4493EQ converters, capable of decoding PCM streams up to 768 kHz and DSD512.

Its amplification stage is modular, allowing the original block (AM3E) to be replaced by other modules from the brand (AM3D THX, AM3B Balanced, etc.) depending on the desired sound signature or power.

The system operates on a symmetrical topology with separate power supply and low-noise discrete components.

In terms of connectivity, the Q5s has a USB-C port, an optical input, a coaxial input, a line input and Bluetooth 5.0 LDAC / aptX HD / AAC, ensuring compatibility and flexibility.

Its brushed aluminum chassis incorporates a precise notched volume potentiometer, and a battery capable of providing up to 9 hours of battery life.
