Small in size but surprisingly complete, the FiiO M5 embodies versatility, FiiO style.

Behind its smartwatch design lies a true Hi-Res player equipped with an AKM AK4377 DAC, capable of delivering a clear, balanced and natural sound reproduction.

The soundstage is airy, the mids are precise, and the overall rendering is very musical — a typical signature of the brand, but in a pocket-sized format of only 40 mm on each side.

A true audio Swiss Army knife, the M5 can function as a standalone player via microSD, as an LDAC Bluetooth receiver (to convert a smartphone into an audiophile source), or as a USB DAC when connected to a computer.

It also features a built-in microphone for calls, a pedometer, a voice recorder, and even an optional wristband for wrist use.

An ideal companion for the office, travel or sports, proving that ultra-portability and true sound quality can be combined.

Technical details & operation

The FiiO M5 incorporates an AKM AK4377 converter, capable of decoding PCM files up to 384 kHz / 32 bits and DSD128.

It incorporates bidirectional Bluetooth 5.0 compatible with LDAC, aptX, aptX HD and SBC, and can serve as both a transmitter (to wireless headphones) and a receiver (from a smartphone).

The Ingenic X1000E processor and simplified touch interface ensure smooth navigation on the 1.54" (240 × 240 px) screen.

Its battery life reaches approximately 10 hours in local playback, and recharging takes 2 hours via USB-C.

Storage is via microSD up to 2TB, and the device requires no drivers for its USB DAC function.
