Refurbished, second-hand, clearance... We'll explain!
  • Refurbished: A refurbished product is a used product that has been fully tested in a workshop according to precise specifications. It is therefore in perfect working order and offers the same features as a new model. A second life!
  • Used: Unlike refurbished models, a used product has not been through our workshop. However, unless otherwise stated, it is in perfect working order and often has an even lower price than its refurbished equivalent.
  • Clearance sale: Unless otherwise stated, this is a new product reaching the end of its life (EOL) with the brand and will therefore be removed from the catalog. Ideal for those who want to give a device that still has so much to offer one last chance!

Audio Garden's review

The PA10 stands out as one of the most serious portable amplifiers for audiophiles seeking uncompromising Class A sound reproduction. The absence of a built-in DAC allows it to be paired with the best external players, while avoiding redundancy.

While its size and weight might make it slightly less convenient than some other models, its performance, warm sound, and extensive connectivity make it a top choice for anyone looking to elevate their portable headphones. Even on the used market, it remains highly relevant and deserves its place among the classics of portable amplification.

Astell&Kern PA10 – the high-fidelity portable headphone amplifier

The Astell&Kern PA10 is a portable headphone amplifier focused on pure sound without compromising on quality. Designed to complement your DAPs or external sources, it offers Class A amplification, a robust aluminum chassis, and comprehensive connectivity to satisfy both on-the-go audiophiles and discerning audiophiles.

Its compact design, accessible controls and natural sound reproduction make it an ideal companion to get the most out of your headphones, wherever you are.

Technical details & operation

  • The PA10 operates in pure Class A, with an exclusive amplification module developed by Astell&Kern. It aims to limit power consumption while ensuring low noise and a high signal-to-noise ratio.
  • It delivers 6.2 Vrms in balanced output (high gain) and 4.2 Vrms in unbalanced output (high gain).
  • Three gain levels are available, to adapt to headphones of varying sensitivities.
  • The 4.4 mm balanced input and the 3.5 mm mini-jack unbalanced input allow you to connect a wide range of sources, including DAPs, smartphones or external DACs.
  • The PA10 incorporates a hardware Crossfeed function, slightly diffusing signals between channels to provide a more immersive listening experience.
  • In terms of power, it has a 4,200 mAh battery providing up to 12 hours of battery life in asymmetric mode, and about 9 hours in symmetric mode.
  • Charging is done via USB-C, with a charging time of around 3 hours.
  • The PA10 casing is made of aluminum, with a back panel covered in non-slip rubber for good grip against a smartphone or smooth surface.
